- What are MOO Business Cards?
-
MOO Business Cards are a bit like regular Business Cards, but with a little something special. No, it's not the size - MOO Business Cards are a standard size - it's the fact you can have every card in the pack with a different image on one side!
Unlike most cards you order online, making cards with MOO means you can choose different photography, design or illustration. It's perfect for displaying a range of products, your portfolio, or the different services you provide.
When you offer them to potential clients and friends, they can choose the card they like the best - the one that's most relevant to them. It's a great way to show the diverse nature of your business and hand over a card (or cards!) that people will keep and remember.
- So, if there's the option of an image on one side, what's on the other side?
- The reverse of the cards has up to 10 lines of text available - and a variety of different design templates. You can choose a landscape or portrait card, upload your company logo, or another image - or, if you have a design already, you can upload a design for the complete card back.
- How should I use my MOO Business Cards?
-
Hand them out to new clients and friends to help them remember you and your business. Take a tip from us though - if you do use different images on each card, fan out the pack when you hand them over - it never fails to impress. Very often, we find people take more than one.
If you're feeling creative, you could use MOO Business cards for all kinds of things. Membership cards, mini-fliers, save-the-dates, birth announcements... anything!
- How much do they cost?
- To see prices for a single pack, or for bulk discounts, head over to the 'paying for your stuff' FAQ.
- How much is shipping - and how long does it take?
- For the cost of shipping a single order - or a bulk delivery - and to find out how long your order will take, please see the delivery FAQ.
- Can I upload my logo for the cards?
-
Yes you can. There are different options for adding logos to your cards - for example:
choose a template that allows you to put a logo as the full image on one side of the cards
AND/OR
choose a template that allows you to upload your logo next to the text, on the reverse side of the cards.
The logo can sit at the top, bottom, left or right of the card, depending on the template you choose. - I've made MiniCards before, and the icon on the text side was really small. Will my logo be bigger than that?
- Yes - there are a lot more options for the reverse of Business Cards, so you can print your logo at a much bigger size - and in one of four different positions.
- Can I use my corporate colours or font on the cards?
-
If you choose MOO's templates there are a variety of different fonts and colours available. There are different styles from modern fonts, like Meta, Officina, Frutiger and Avant Garde, to the more 'traditional', like Helvetica or Georgia. We've included a few funky typefaces aswell, for people looking for something a little different.
If you have a very strict corporate style or an unusual font, you can upload a complete design for the back of the cards - using your own fonts and colours to produce a high-res jpeg, or a PDF.
- I'm no designer. How do I make my cards look really professional?
- We've made the card-making process really easy, so that both expert designers and people with no design skills at all should be able to create equally beautiful cards. There's a wide range of templates available, for use with your own images/text/logos, and each design template you choose will deliver a personalised, professional-quality card design. If you don't have your own images, then browse MOO Designers - you can mix and match from a huge range of styles, and use them to create something uniquely you.
- If I want to make packs of cards for my whole team, is there an easy way to use the same images but change the text details for each person?
- Yes, it is quite straightforward to use the same images with different text for multiple packs of cards. Once you've finished making the first pack, you will be given the option to make another pack of cards using the same images. You can easily add the different details to the next pack of cards and continue this process for your whole team.
- I heard I can make Business Cards with a 'partner' site - who are your partners?
- MOO partners with a few different sites - you can find a list of them here
- Why can I only buy Business Cards in packs of 50 or 200?
-
After much research and a lot of thinking, we decided these two quantities would suit our customers best.
The 50 pack is great for people who change their contact information/product line/photos regularly and like updated cards to reflect all those changes. It's also a great way to try our Business Cards before making the investment to buy larger quantities for yourself or your team.
The 200 pack is ideal if you are someone who gets through a lot of cards quickly. If you are a nut for networking or off to a big event, the 200 pack should see you through. We didn't want to sell our cards in vast quantities, because if you're anything like us, you'll be left with stacks of cards you never use - which is a terrible waste of money. Your cards should be out there working for you, not gathering dust in a drawer, because you've changed your phone number.
- Can I get my cards printed in other languages and character sets?
- Yes, you can. MOO supports all the given character sets in the Unicode Specifications. That means everything from the full European set, to African, Indic and Asian scripts.
- Do my photographs have to be landscape? Can I have cards the other way up?
- Once you have selected the images you'd like on your Business Cards, you can use our online tool to crop and rotate them. This means you can choose portrait or landscape images - whatever takes your fancy.
- How big are MOO Business Cards?
- Our Business Cards measure 84mm x 55mm (3.3inches x 2.17inches). That's similar to both the standard UK and USA business card size.
- How are MOO Business Cards printed?
- Business Cards are printed on digital printing presses, using a 4 color ink process.
- What is the MOO 'Classic' card?
-
The MOO 'Classic' card is the same smooth, sturdy paper used for MiniCards. It's a bright white, with a matt laminate finish that makes it smooth to the touch.
It is sourced from sustainable forests and is Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF).
- And what is the MOO 'Green' card?
-
The paper and processes used for the 'Green' or 'eco' cards is as environmentally friendly as it can be. The paper is a smooth, un-coated white, which prints in colour very well.
It's 100% recycled fibre, totally chlorine free (TCF) and 100% bio-degradeable.
(It's soul is green - not it's colour!)
- Are you printing the Green Cards with soy based inks?
- MOO Business Cards are digitally printed. At the moment there is no soy based option for digital inks, but we have used green materials where ever possible for the rest of the process.
- What's the packaging like?
-
Our 50 packs come in a sturdy box, with a lid that slides off. It's good for popping in a bag or briefcase, and looks smart when you take it out to share your cards with clients or friends.
The 50 packs of 'MOO Classic' cards are handpacked in a slick, black box. Underneath the nice coating, the box is 100% recycled pulp.
The 50 packs of 'MOO Green' cards are handpacked in a 100% recycled box - the paper covering here is recycled too.
Both boxes come with special MOO dividers - this means if you keep the cards other people give you in the same box as your own, you wont get them all mixed up. The dividers are printed on recycled paper - and they look cute too.
If you order a 200 pack, they are delivered with one 50 pack holder, so you can use the other 150 cards as refills. (We found 50 cards is a comfortable amount to carry to a meeting, while 200 in one go was like carrying a small brick.)
- Does MOO retain any rights to the photos I uploaded for printing?
- Absolutely not. Your images remain your copyright, they belong to you, not MOO. We may store them for a period of time, to facilitate re-ordering, but only you will be able to re-order the images you upload.
- Actually, I'm running out of cards! Can I re-order my pack?
- Yes. All you have to do is go into 'Manage your orders', find the pack you want to buy again, and click 're-order'. You can re-order the same pack, or tweak your image or text selection to update it.
- What about MOO MiniCards - are they sticking around?
- Of course they are! We would never replace our beloved MiniCards with a new product. We'll carry on making MiniCards up to our usual high standard, but thought we'd introduce a bigger card for all of our customers who have asked (well, begged) us for one. We are really pleased with both our card sizes, and think there's a place in your heart for both.
